I'm A Photojournalist

The subjects that I chose to photograph are an animal, a child, a landscape, a small group of people, and a sunset. For this project, the partner I have chosen to work with, is Gabby Romero. Also, we have chosen to use our own cameras.

Photojournalist Questions

What kind of education do you need to become a photojournalist?
You need to pursue bachelor's degree programs in photojournalism in order to become a photojournalist. If a school or university doesn't offer a bachelor's degree in photojournalism, students can also major in photography and minor in journalism.

What's one school that has a photojournalism program?

Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts has a photojournalism program.

What kind of pay might you expect to earn as a photojournalist?
An average photojournalist can earn $14,000 to $54,000 a year. He/she can earn $1,110 to $4,562 per month.

What would you need to do to prepare for a job interview as a photojournalist?

You want to make a good impression. So, to get the job, you want to make a portfolio with things that YOU like to photograph, not what others do.

Would you consider this as a possible profession/job in your future?  Why or why not?
Yes, I would consider this as a possible profession in my future. I love taking pictures and my aunt is a photographer and she has somewhat inspired me to be a photographer also.

The Great Debaters Movie Review

The movie I am reviewing is called, "The Great Debaters". It was directed by Denzel Washington and he also played a big part in the movie as Mr. Tulson, the debate team's instructor. Some leading characters are: Denzel Washington, Forest Whitaker, and Kimberly Elise, Jurnee Smollett, Nate Parker, and Denzel Whitaker. The movie is based on  a true story and it's about a debate team from Wiley College in 1935. It was an all black school in Marshall, Texas. The debate team never had a female until Samantha Brooke joined. It was a very segregated time period. Many of the black people were very religious but they weren't treated with respect. In my opinion, I enjoyed the movie a lot because it's about how black people earn their rights.
Eventually, the debate team wins all of their debates and are undefeated. They have an oppurtunity to compete against Harvard and they win that debate. If I had to choose who my favorite character is, I'd say Samantha. I think she played a good part in the movie because she was independent, and she stood up for herself. Also, I'd recommend many of my friends and family to watch it because I think they'd enjoy it as much as I did.

Election Day

Who would you vote for and why?
If I was old enough to vote, I would vote for Obama. I'd vote for him because he is a good president and it seems like he knows what he's doing for this country. Even though people may say he's made our country in debt, I think he has still done a better job than our former president, George Bush.
